Growth Habits: Evergreen, low spreading, dense, shrub, 12 to 18 inches tall (30-45 cm), up to 10 feet spread (3 m); bright bluish overlapping, awl-shaped green leaves, 0.24 to 1 inch (6-25 mm), 0.06 inch wide (1.5 mm), borne in 3s, foliage turns bronze green in winter
Watering Needs: Likes moist soil but is drought tolerant, needs good drainage, tolerates salt and coastal conditions
Propagation: Relatively easy by tip cuttings

- ‘Blue Pacific’ - blue-green foliage color, 1 foot tall (30 cm), low trailing habit, more heat tolerant, foliage color changes less in winter.
- 'Emerald Sea' - light green foliage, wide-spreading about 8 inches tall (20 cm), 8 feet spread (2.4 m), more salt tolerant, more cold hardy.
Fruiting Habits: Female plants have dark blue or bluish black subglobose berry-like cones, covered with a waxy bloom at maturity, 0.32 to 0.5 inch in diameter (8-12 mm).
