Pilocereus

Pilocereus was used by 2 different authors to indicate 2 different genera. Both genera have since been renamed and merged. Pilocereus sensu Lemaire (as intended by Lemaire) is now merged in Cephalocereus. Pilocereus sensu K.Schumann is now Pilosocereus. The name Pilocereus comes from the Latine for 'hairy Cereus'.

Pilocereus senilis (Old Man Cactus, Old Man of Mexico, Cabeza de Viejo) synonym of Cephalocereus senilis
Pilocereus terscheckii (Cardon Grande) synonym of Echinopsis terscheckii
