This is the tree giving the pistachio nuts. It grows relatively well in the Phoenix area, although suffering from the heat. There are a number of commercial plantations of this tree in Arizona.

Fruiting Habits:
The Pistachio is dioecious, meaning that there are female trees and male trees. The fruits appear on female tree only if there are male trees in the vicinity.
